Skin for Sale
If, as academic Ramon Gubern says in this film, "Conventional cinema is life without sex, and porn is sex without life," then this documentary goes a long way toward reconciling the two. Focusing on the adult film industry in Barcelona, Spain, the film puts a human face on skin flicks by interviewing participants such as producer Jose Maria Ponce ("the granddaddy of Spanish porn") and actors Nacho Vidal and Anastassia, as well as intellectuals.
Slayer: Still Reigning
Most Slayer fans still hold up their album REIGN IN BLOOD as the band's true masterpiece. So when it came to recording a visual document of the band - entitled STILL REIGNING - the band turned to its 1986 record for inspiration. With the original line up intact, the band takes to a stage decorated in exactly the same style as their 1980s tour, and work their way through the album. The punishing intensity of their playing hasn't let up over the years, and the group members clearly delight in playing some classic material. With the REIGN IN BLOOD album performed in its entirety, tracks such as "Angel of Death", "Criminally Insane" and "Jesus Saves" come to life once again. As an added bonus, Slayer also performs a selection of other classics, including "South of Heaven", "War Ensemble" and "Mandatory Suicide". As the group exits with blood-like rain falling on them, there can be no doubt that they have entered the pantheon of classic metal bands.
Sleep
The film ‘Sleep’, which is part of ‘Time and the Other’ (exhibition and book), is a succession of photograms (taken with the help of a camera with a programmed intervalometer), each of them a fragment of actual sleeping time. This sequence repeats itself expanding at each replay and transforming its content as well as the rhythm of its images every time. The bodies in motion of the couple become abstract, blurring the border with reality. ‘Sleep’ is the place of total separation, a unique moment of solitude to which the other has no access. In this video, sounds and images are worked to create a kind of lyricism haunted by anxiety, and to express the swing between discord and harmony that lies in the relationship to the loved other. ‘Time and the Other’ is the story of love and separation of a couple, viewed from the subjective angle of one of the lovers. That experience is expressed in the absence of the other. It includes 3 chapters: Embrace, Sleep & Lost Chords.
Slow Midnight Show
The film attempts to stimulate without dialogue and with not too exciting storyline, using only images, sounds, film-noir and usual horror elements.

Smashing
Jimmie Durham is sitting in a suit behind a desk, and like a bureaucrat, he carries out his duties: crushing things. In an orderly manner someone comes in and gives them an object that crushes Durham - violent but unmoved - with a prehistoric stone tool. He stamps and signs a sheet of paper as a receipt, and gives it to the same person, who walks out of the screen. The same sequence of events is repeated several times during the 92 minutes.
