Images of impending disaster (slamming doors, a truck careening down a hill and a frayed, almost snapping elevator rope) collide with the repeated image of a woman's body, cycling toward ephemerality as the woman disappears into the texture of the film itself. In her recent films, Geiser has been exploring the possibilities found in merging video texture with film, creating a lush, disorienting, ambiguous film space and an atmosphere of temporal suspension. In TERRACE 49, the space is shattered further, broken into shards: as fractured as memory and as fragile as glass.
Terlena: Breaking of a Nation
Documentary on the Indonesian coup d'état of Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 1965 and the mass arrests and killings that followed. Interviews with members of Indonesia's cultural and scientific communities examine the effects of the Suharto dictatorship at the cultural and personal level.
Terrorists
"Terrorists" is a comedy about life in post-9/11 America: Curtis Gorfurter, small-town police chief, unhappy with his lowly status and eager to prove himself in the War Against Terror, interprets a series of unrelated events as proof of an impending terrorist attack. When a graduate student of Mideastern descent arrives in town to authenticate the world's largest stool, he unwittingly becomes the police chief's prime terrorist suspect. In creating this climate of fear, the chief acquires the power and the perks he's always dreamed of. And when he raises the town's alert level from brick to tangerine, panic ensues and common sense takes a holiday.

Tester
The trio Radian (the track «tester» is taken from their new CD «Juxtaposition», which was released in fall 2004) and Michaela Schwentner, who has translated several pieces by the three well-traveled sound researchers into images, are a proven team. This is a classic music video, though not really. The visuals are too autonomous, even if Schwentner goes along with the sounds at precisely their rhythm, reflects and emphasizes the growing intensity, and helps accentuate the fractures in the soundscape. The audio level is treated with greater respect than in conventional music videos, and the musical foundation is left unaltered rather than being (re)interpreted.

A faux advertisement for a third-world robotic police that established Neill Blomkamp's signature style of mixing lo-fi production with seamless CGI.

Thayumaaanavan
A father who's a retired cop with two wives finds his patience tested when his son -- a jail warden -- tries to enact reforms in the prison system. Saravanan, who plays the father, also wrote and directed this classic tale about the confrontation between a father and son.
