A Christmas Tree Love Story

Two friends who haven't talked in a while travel to a Christmas Tree Farm in search of the perfect tree for the holidays. During their trip, they reminisce about their past and contemplate their future. This story is told in three chapters. In each chapter, Emma and Jack embody different circumstances. And regardless of the circumstances, we discover their undeniable connection to each other.

Flamingo

When a door is blown shut at an office party, near strangers Frankie and Ben find themselves stuck on a rooftop for the weekend. With only a collection of animal props and each other for company, they have nothing to do but reflect on life and love. Starring as the deserted duo are Ryan O’Kane (Tangiwai, Rage) and Australian Emma Leonard (800 Words). Both actors spent time on Aussie soap Home and Away. The feature marks a return to drama directing for Richard Riddiford (Arriving Tuesday, Tarawera), who in recent decades has concentrated on documentaries.

H(o)me(o)pa®t(h)y

H(o)me(o)pa®t(h)y is a home entertainment healing system based on Homoeopathic medicine which one can at least to a certain extent autonomously manage as first aid tool, if you are skilled enough. As an allusion to David Cronenberg's Videodrome where the president of a trashy TV channel, Max Renn is desperate for new programming to attract viewers by establishing a new TV show dedicated to torture and punishment, H(o)me(o)pa®t(h)y instead is based on joy and healing. But will there be an overdose of globules? Insert 1 globules and start your solo home party! Cure yourself on so many occasions and relive a full relief. Your own H(o)me(o)pa®t(h)y kit is now available. Don't worry, be homoeopathic!

Kal Fatemeh

Nestled in an isolated and verdant mountainous region in Iran, Kal Fatemeh and her two boys live alone away from villages and towns. In this world, there is a delicate balance between humankind and nature. Fatemeh, unshaken by the challenging rural lifestyle, works the rice paddies, rears cattle and runs the farm all on her own. Often seen grieving over her daughter’s unhappy past, tender close-ups between the two show a tortured mother weighed down by guilt for having permitted her young teenage child into an abusive wedlock. The film, which is driven by visual narration rather than dialogue, draws us completely in by the undeniable demonstration of one woman’s extraordinary resilience. (Programming Collective)
